Ethan's dedication, part 2

After the church service our families all got together for some lunch and then a special prayer time to pray for Ethan and for Jon & I as parents. We really wanted to make the dedication about God and not just as an opportinity to show off Ethan to the whole church. Here are some snapshots that we took after church.

Ethan gets dedicated to God

This morning at our church, Ethan was dedicated to God by the very same pastor (Josh Hawley) that married Jolie and I about 3 1/2 years ago! It was fun to reminisce with Josh about how Jolie and I met on the Urbana trip in 2003. After the dedication, the family all had lunch together at my parents house. It was a nice day for us :)

Tuesday marked Ethan's 4 month birthday. Here are some pics. He sure has changed since we brought him home from the hospital. But he is still a delightful and happy boy! Enjoy. :)

Happy Birthday Jeff & Rock Band

The Saturday following Christmas Jon's family all got together to celebrate his brother Jeff's birthday (the big 31). We enjoyed dinner at Logan's (as in the restaurant and not their youngest son) and then dessert and RockBand at their house. I am posting pictures because it is so much fun to watch. I also have a video but I think I remember my life being threatened if I were to post it.

Christmas 2008

Our Christmas schedule was quite busy. Jon worked up until Christmas Eve making sure our air quality is well taken care of and Jolie spent some time baking treats for people to enjoy as well as making attempts at making Christmas gifts. We really enjoyed our first Christmas with Ethan. Although he would rather play with the paper (especially shiny, crinkley paper), he enjoyed (and still is enjoying) his many Christmas gifts.
Christmas with Jolie's family: We celebrated Christmas on Saturday since we are all so busy on Christmas and like to make our own traditions with our "little" families. We met for brunch and then opened presents. By 1, we were all ready for a nap. This picture is of Zoe opening up the Hungry Caterpillar Quilt Jolie's mom made. It was a hit!
Christmas Day with Jon's family: Thursday afternoon brought all of family on Jon's side together for a late lunch, presents, birthdays, Nertz, Blokus, and talking.

This is a picture of Ethan opening a present from Jon's parents. He will probably enjoy Christmas much more next year when he has a better understanding of what is happening. We had fun with him, though! He sure has been a great gift to Jon and I this past year.
