Weston's first birthday!

I can't believe that a year ago, Weston decided to come into this world a little early.  A year has passed and this little cutie has been such a blessing!  Here are some highlights from his birthday party last weekend!  His actual birthday is tomorrow (Feb. 1st!).

His birthday was a woodland animal theme.  You can go to Jolie's other blog to see everything that she did.  The colors were brown, orange, and green.

Weston had so much fun playing in the ball pit.
The kids painted bird houses to take home.
Weston's cousin Everett looked like he was having fun!
Weston and James were having a blast.
 So was Brady!

 Zoe loved her bird house.
 happy boy!
 cutie!

Weston was really into the balloons!
he wanted to touch the flame. . .
 frosting??? This is weird.
hmmm. . . i ate it. . . not sure what I think.  Don't think I am going to have more.
 thee balloons are cool.
 Opening presents was an adventure.
Everyone wanted to help.

Zoo trip with Grandma and Zoe

Zoe got to spend some extra time with Grandma while she was on vacation and so we planned a trip to the zoo.  Zoe hadn't been in quite a while so she had so much fun.  I don't think Ethan will ever get tired of the zoo. . . which is good since we have a membership and we go 1 to 2 times a month.  Here are some of the highlights:
Ethan and Zoe with their Grandma at the beginning of our adventure.

Zoe posing outside the Reptile House in a turtle shell.

Ethan had fun sliding through the turtle shell.

Zoe and Ethan trying to sit on the lizards head.

Weston and Grandma.

I took Zoe and Ethan into the Stingray exhibit while my mom hung out with Weston.  Zoe thought it was really cool and was brave enough to put her fingertips in the water.  It took her a few minutes, but she did.

Ethan just likes to watch.
Zoe never actually touched one because she never got her fingers in far enough.  She was not happy when we left the stingrays, but she wouldn't put her fingers in farther. . . maybe next time?

Oh no. . . Weston's getting eaten by a hippo. . . just kidding!

A perfect fit!

Ethan and Zoe were having a blast!

Zoe wanted to see the Zebras because Zebras start with Zz just like her name!

It was a fun day with Grandma!

Another good pic of Weston with his grandma!

 Such good helpers!

This was an attempt to get them all together for one picture. Unfortunately, they were getting tired, hungry, and a didn't care to take another picture.

I can't wait til our next adventure!

Christmas at the Heinrich's 2012

Christmas continued to Monday morning, when we headed down to Lemoore to spent Christmas with Jolie's family for brunch.  Everyone was able to make it (with the exception of Karissa and George. . . they were in Wyoming).  We had so much fun and the kids LOVED playing together, especially Ethan and Zoe.

 The cousins minus George.

Ryan and Weston. . . Weston just would not stay still!

Robert, Jeannie, and Ryan. . . I can't believe that Ryan is a freshman this year!  I feel so old!

 Our little family.

I loved this picture of Ethan!

Sometimes it is very hard to keep Weston still!

Christmas Morning 2011

Christmas morning is reserved just for our little family of four.  We get up, open presents, have a fun breakfast, and then open our stockings.  Eventually we head out to the Big family gathering that afternoon.  But, because Christmas brings lots of fun things and lots of family gatherings, we have spent time creating our own family traditions on Christmas morning.  Here are some highlights:

Ethan is trying to help Weston open the gift he gave hime (a baby sock monkey).  Unfortunately, Weston was too busy playing the xylophone (a gift that Ethan had gotten for his first birthday).

 Weston . . . very happy!

Ethan LOVED getting some new books!

Weston finally took a break from the xylophone to open a present.

It was a great Christmas morning of fun family time! It's our favorite party of the day, spending time as a family before the kids are tired, cranky, and Christmased out.  We feel so blessed!

Christmas Pajamas 2011

Christmas Eve 2011
This year was Weston's first Christmas and Ethan was so excited they got to have matching pajamas.

Christmas Eve 2011

This year, we celebrated Christmas Eve with Jon's family at his brother's house.  It was such a nice, relaxing evening filled with fun and laughter!  We started out at their church, Clovis Hills, for their Christmas Service and watched our nephews, Cooper and Logan do an amazing job as Shepherds.  After church, we all headed back to Jeff and Kelley's house for some build your own pizza and dessert.  Everything was delicious!  Then we opened presents and hung out.  Before long, it was bedtime and ready to head back home.  We made a detour by Cindy Lane, an amazingly decorated neighborhood in Clovis.  Ethan absolutely LOVES Christmas lights this year, so he was thrilled!  Then we headed home, let the boys open their Christmas Pajamas and headed to bed.  It was such a fun night!

Jon and Ethan working hard on our family pizza.

Logan was waiting patiently to  make his pizza.

 pizza making time!

 more pizza making.

The little ones: Weston (11 months) and his cousin Brady (16 months)
Ethan had fun helping everyone open their presents.

Kelley and Logan. . . isn't this a great picture!

We got Cooper a Doodle Book and colored pencils.  He got right to doodling as soon as he could.
