Clovis Fest took place about a week and a half ago. Jon and I decided that we were going to wake up and take Ethan out to see the balloons. . . mind you, we were there at 6:30. . .AM! It was an incredibly early morning, but completely worth it! It was so beautiful and colorful to see all the balloons. I even popped some Pillsbury cinnamon rolls in the oven so we could munch on them while were were watching (we weren't about to stand in the mile-long line to buy cinnamon rolls!

After party bath
What does every little boy need following an incredibly fun time playing with good friends and cousins, eating hot dogs and cupcakes, and opening gifts?
A bath with his best friend, of course! While I was cleaning up the after party disaster, my friend Steph took care of the kiddos and gave the their baths. So much fun when you put the two together!
Thanks Steph for giving my kiddo a bath and capturing these great photos on your camera! You're the best!

Ethan turned 2!
Ethan turned while were in Cayucus and then a week later, we had a big party for him. It was so much fun to hang out with family and friends and watch Ethan just run around like crazy. . . he had so much fun! Ethan is really into trains right now, so we had a train party.
We took advantage of the great weather we've been having and held the party outside in our backyard (I even got to plant some new flowers for the occasion!). We had bubbles, chalk, and Dingle Balls (ladder golf) out to play with, along with a train craft for the kids to make.
He had fun opening presents, but easily got distracted. He also loved blowing out candles and having people sing to him. He had fun! Thanks so much to everyone who came. . . we had a blast (and missed those who couldn't make it).
There are some fun birthday bath pictures that I will post soon (thanks to Steph, who took care of bath time while I cleaned up!)

Cayucus 2010
Our annual trek to Cayucus with Jon's family has once again come and gone. It is always nice to get together with Jon's family to partake in some fun, relaxing traditions. This year was a bit different because we were in a different house and Jeff, Kelley, and the boys were not there to join us (they had a good excuse. . . Kelley was giving birth to our new, precious little nephew!).
Jon, Ethan, and I headed off to the coast after lunch on Friday, just in time for Ethan to take a nice, long nap (he did nap, but only for about an hour, then he whined. boo). We got into Morro Bay just in time for me to hit my favorite quilt shop before they closed, walk around the Embarcadero, and let Ethan run around at the park. It is such a nice little park at the Marina. As dinner time started approaching, we headed into Cayucus, found the house, unpacked, and walked to the Sea Shanty for dinner. It was delicious!
We had a lot of fun walking around and going to the Peddler's Fair. I found a really good deal on some antique green bowls (yes, I have an obsession with bowls), and Jon was able to restock his supply of golf balls (apparently a few were lost during the annual Raineri Cup, and Ethan was able to purchase some hot wheels, some books, and a Toy Story bubble whistle.

The man-folk participated in their annual golf tournament (Congrats to John Dooley for winning). We played outside and let off balloons in honor of Jon's cousin who died several years ago.
Ethan also got to celebrate his 2nd birthday with his Nanny (Great Grandma). He had a few presents to unwrap, a balloon, and some yummy cake. He now thinks it is his job to blow out the candles.
Before heading home, we took Ethan to the beach for some fun! It was a bit chilly and foggy, but we weren't complaining (as we would soon be going home to hot temperatures and sun). Ethan had fun walking with his grandma and grandpa Klassen. It was a nice morning!
And of course, what Cayucus weekend would be complete with out a group shot. Here we are being silly. Ethan even joined in the fun, by sticking out his tongue.
And, here we are. . . all smiles.

A quick August mega-blog
So, I've been slacking off on the blogging lately and am trying to play catch up with this quick post.
So, In August we kept busy by spending a week at the church serving and participating in our church's High Sea Adventure Vacation Bible School. It was an amazing week! I worked as the Elementary games person, which was a lot of fun and miraculously didn't seem to have too much morning sickness this week (praise God!) If I get any more VBS pictures, I'll post them later (hint hint, Stephanie). Because I was serving, Ethan got to spend the morning have program created just for him and other kids his age. He got to do fun crafts, learn the songs (which he LOVES and sings still today), and play games! He had so much fun that in the mornings he would just run to the door ready to go. We also got together with our small group to have a swim party. We had all been so busy, that it was just nice to get together and spend some time relaxing and fellowshipping with each other. The kids had a great time, too.
Finally, in August, we started spending a little bit of time working in the yard to get things ready for ethan's birthday (there was a lot of weeding to do!!!). Ethan absolutely loves to help with anything, especially yard work. One of the ways he helps is by standing at the cherry tomatoes and eating my cherry tomatoes. . . he loves them!!!!
So, there's August in a nutshell. I hope to be more regular in keeping you all updated. Things are definately slowing down here.
