Happy Birthday Logan!

Thursday night, Jon, Ethan and I went over to Matt and Lisa's to watch the Penguins vs. the Canadians with Matt, Lisa, Jeff, Kelley, and the boys. It was also Logan's second birthday. Lisa baked a fantastic fun-fetti cake for Logan and he got to blow out the candles. It was great!

A bit of Ethan

What series of posts would be complete without a bit of our son, Ethan. He is beginning to become quite mobile, despite not actually crawling. He rolls, scoots, and rocks to get to new places. We have now had to Ethan-proof our home by moving cords and plugging outlets. He is on the prowl to find something new almost all the time.

Ethan somehow managed to find himself underneath the bar stool yesterday.

Ethan is very happy rocking back and forth. I don't think this will last very long!

A visit with Alli

Our friend Alli Porter was in town this weekend for her baby shower. It was nice to get to hang out with her on Monday night for some BBT & HIMYM (which ended up being re-runs. . . bummer!). Steph, Alli, Amelia, and Ethan and I all crammed on the couch for this pic. We can't wait to meet Baby Boy Porter!

Shopping with babies

Last week, my friend Steph and I packed up the babies and went shopping at the Tulare outlets. It was so much fun just to get out and go shopping all day. Not to mention, we are training them to be good shoppers! They did such an awesome job! Ethan and Abi had some fun hanging out with each other, too.

Ethan's first time eating "solids"

Tonight, Jon and I celebrated Ethan's 5 month birthday by giving him his first solids. He had some very milked down rice cereal (a.k.a. milk on a spoon - thanks Kelley!). He absolutely loved it. Enjoy this video:

More of Ethan

Here are a few snapshots we have been able to get of Ethan (not that it is hard to get. . . he now knows to smile and pose when there is a camera!). Here are some notes:

1. Ethan likes to sleep. . . he sleeps a different way all the time. However, more often than not he is on his belly.
2. He likes to help his daddy play video games.
3. He looks super cool in his sunglasses!
4. He likes to hang out with his bumpo.
5. He doesn't mind when his taggy is on his head.
6. He is a mover. . . and will probably be crawling soon. . . he scoots pretty well and was starting to get the furniture this morning (hence, the picture next to the coffee table leg!).
7. He is cool just chillin'.

Our Morro Bay Trip

Jon, Ethan, and I packed up our bags and headed for a quick retreat to Morro Bay where we enjoyed the pleasures of cable T.V., beautiful weather, a breathtaking view, picnic lunches, and of course, walking to enjoy the sites and sounds of this quiet community. It was a really nice opportunity to get away and enjoy being a family. This was the first time Ethan has been away from home overnight. He did really well and loved walking around with his sunglasses (I think Morro Bay was ready to give him the cutest kid award. . . we had lots of compliments. . . He's a great kid!).
