Jon's New Hobby

Jon recently decided he needed to get a hobby that didn't include cramming math formulas into his head. And although, he still regularly studies math problems, he found a hobby that really fits his personality. So, thanks to the future Mr. and Mrs. Pitts, we have been introduced to geocaching. . . and yes, it might just change our lives forever! I have to admit, I am finding it fun to join him on these adventures.
Many might ask, "What is geocaching, exactly?" Well, my friends, I am ready to tell you. According to Wikepedia, Geocaching an outdoor treasure-hunting game in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers (called "geocaches" or "caches") anywhere in the world. A typical cache is a small waterproof container (usually a tupperware or ammo box) containing a logbook and "treasure," usually toys or trinkets of little value.
So, with that, we have now gone out several times and been frustrated beyond belief and have even found some! Plus, we can just about do it anywhere we are!

This particular hunt ended in pure frustration! But it was a beautiful Sunday afternoon walk!

is quite creative!

After you find the cache. . . you need to sign your name on the log. This log ended up being kind of wet, but it is so much fun to see all the people who found it before we did, and how long it has been there. This particular one had been there for more than 3 years! How cool is that?
