We ran away!

Jon and I decided that we were going to run away to San Francisco. We needed to take advantage of my second trimester energy level. We got up and left Friday morning and made our usual trek to Dublin and then on to the BART into the city. Jon and I both fell asleep, making the ride very relaxing. When we got into the city, we were met with some nice clouds and cooler temps. Perfect weather for walking around in. We checked into our hotel, The Warwick Regis, which is on Geary right across the street from the Curran Theater. We had a fabulous room that they upgraded to a suite with a fireplace. It was quite enjoyable with the cooler temperatures. After that, we decided we needed to eat some lunch. We walked down the street to the Daily Grill. . . it was scrumptious! We spent some time wandering the Union Square area, hoping to find clothes for me at Old Navy's Maternity section. No such luck. It was very dissapointing.

Then, we walked to Fisherman's Wharf for dinner. It drizzled misty rain all evening. It was the perfect kind of rain to walk around in. The kind you don't need an umbrella, and you still never get really wet, but you can see it coming down. It was beautiful. We ate an "okay" meal at Joe's Crab Shack and went in search of an ice cream parlor for Jon's ice cream craving. Then we had to search for a bathroom. . . no fun when a baby is pressing down on your bladder and there isn't really anywhere for you to go. Thank goodness for the Cannery and their public bathrooms. Not to shabby, either. Then, we took the cable car back to Union Square. It was the most beautiful ride ever! We were in the very front/outside. The mist over the city was such a glorious addition to the view of Coit Tower, the Bay bridge, and the tall skyscrapers. Jon said it was his most memorable memory of the whole trip. We then vegged in our beautiful room with a very nice fireplace and cable.

The next day we walked around Union Square looking for stuff. We found great luck in clothes at the Gap. Jon said that it was like I was walking into the Promised Land when I arrived at their Maternity section. After doing some damage, we made an attempt to walk out, but even Jon found something for himself. We left San Francisco very fulfilled with a nice, relaxing, semi adventurous weekend.
